Validity of St. George’s respiratory questionnaire in lung cancer population

AIMS : To determine the concurrent validity of St. George Respiratory Questionnaire with Chronic Respiratory Questionnaire as a gold standard measure to measure health related quality of life in respiratory (chronic airflow limitation) diseases . OBJECTIVE: To check the validity of St. George Respiratory Questionnaire in lung cancer population. Methodology: Cross Sectional Study design Results: There is high to moderate correlation between domains of SGRQ and CRQ & there is moderate correlation between domain of SGRQ and SF – 36. Discussion: One way of capturing the personal and social context of patients is to use HRQoL measures. The inclusion of HRQoL in clinical investigations has increased significantly during the last two decades, as has the development of psychometrically sound HRQoL instruments to measure a variety of health conditions. In present study, Results indicate high correlation(r = - 0.826, p<0.05) between SGRQ and CRQ and moderate correlation(r = - 0.697, p<0.05) between SGRQ and SF-36, because SF-36 is generic health related questionnaire while CRQ is disease specific questionnaire.38 Conclusion: Our results suggest that the SGRQ is a valid measure to assess HRQOL in subject with Lung cancer. The SGRQ is valid and compares well with the CRQ and SF-36. There was an excellent concurrent validity for SGRQ and CRQ, moderate concurrent validity of SGRQ with SF-36 in lung cancer.

The aim of this paper is to describe the method of temperature regulation of a networked house. In the temperature regulation process, we do not use any type of refrigerant like CFC and HFC. It is beneficial to the environment as no harmful gases are used in the temperature regulation of the house by using air conditioner. The temperature regulation of the house is basically done with the help of peltier chip which works on the principle of PELTIER EFFECT. In this type of temperature regulation there is no use of compressor and pump for the refrigeration. Peltier module is an electric module which produces a temperature difference when current flows through it. The emergence of the temperature difference is based on peltier effect. The thermo-electric module is a heat pump and has the same junction as the refrigerator. The heat flow can be turned by the reversal of the direction of current.

A simulation based study of TLB misses handling

Most operating systems assign a page table for each process. The page table keeps track of where the virtual pages are saved in the physical memory. The virtual memory scheme would suffer the effect of doubling the memory access time. We can reduce the time taken to access the page table again and again by using Translation Lookaside Buffer (TLB). But, when we don’t find the page frame number inside the TLB, the CPU has to access main memory for it. One problem is where the needed information itself actually is in a cache, although the information for virtual-to-physical translation is not in a TLB. A TLB miss can be more important due to the need for not just a load from main memory. The paper priority explains the concept of TLB miss handling because the translation is performed quickly without having to consult the page table. This paper aims to discuss how hardware can help us make address translation faster and how to provide MIPS R4000 architecture on TLB to translate virtual address into physical address. So, we will describe TLB Control Flow Program to avoid TLB miss as much as we can. We will explain that examine an array in a tiny address trace. Also note the role that the array access will suffer even fewer misses.

Knowledge discovery from documents by using Text Mining Technique

Text mining is an important field because of the necessity of obtaining knowledge from the enormous number of text documents. This system describes text mining technique for automatically extracting association rules amongst keywords from collections of textual documents. This system integrates XML technology with Information Retrieval scheme (TF-IDF) for keyword selection that automatically selects the most discriminative keywords for use in association rules generation and uses data mining technique for association rules discovery. This system consists of text preprocessing phase for filtration and indexing of the document, knowledge distillation phase for generating association rules by using GARW algorithm and visualisation phase for displaying results. This system extracts association rules that contain important features and describe the informative news (knowledge) that are included in the XML documents collection by using generated association rules. This system is implemented by using C# programming language.

Performance comparison between K-Nearest Neighbor and Naive Bayesian Classifiers by using heart disease dataset

Today, the diagnosis of diseases is a vital and intricate job in medicine. Medical diagnosis is regarded as an important yet complicated task that needs to be executed accurately and efficiently. Regrettably all doctors do not possess expertise in every sub specialty and moreover there is a shortage of resource persons at certain places. In this situation, an automatic medical diagnosis system is beneficial by bringing all of them together. For this diagnosis system, many classifiers are essential and needed for disease classification. So, this system is proposed as the performance comparison system about classifiers to know which classifier is more effective than other. To compare the performance, this system classifies the heart disease dataset by using K-nearest neighbor(KNN) and naive bayesian (NB) classifiers.

Finite element analysis of Incremental sheet forming

Incremental sheet metal forming is a relatively new technology developed to fabricate complex geometries which simultaneously streamlines the process by reducing the manufacturing time as well as the set up cost. The process is carried out with a CNC machine with a rotating forming tool following predefined trajectories defined by the contour of the aforementioned geometries. In this work we use a laboratory scale incremental forming to design and form geometries with a vertical head CNC machine. Three dimensional models of the parts required will be modelled and corresponding NC codes were generated accordingly. Simulations are created and would be verified by comparing it with the experimental procedure.
