Effect of Otago exercise program on balance and risk of fall in community-dwelling individuals having knee osteoarthritis

The aim of this paper is to study the effect of Otago exercises program on balance and on the risk of fall in community-dwelling individuals having knee osteoarthritis. Otago exercise program is an individually tailored home-based programme which will help the elderly to reduce fall risk. Hence we are going to check whether Otago exercise program is helpful in reduction of fall and improve balance in community-dwelling individuals having knee osteoarthritis. Consent of the patients will be taken. The importance of the Otago exercises will be explained to the patient. The procedure and treatment duration will be explained. Firstly at the first-week score of Time Up And Go Test And Berg Balance Scale will be noted Intervention for 1 month will be given. Lastly, at the 4th week again the scored will be checked. Result: The result of the Berg Balance Scale shows, Mean pre-intervention was 36.77 and post-intervention was 45.7, P=0.0001 and t= 9.466. The result of time up and go test shows, Mean pre-intervention was 40.87 and post-intervention was 28.07, P=0.0001 and t= 17.147 After comparing within the group it is observed that pre and post-intervention were considered to be significant. Conclusion: According to the findings of my study we conclude that Otago exercise program is effective in increasing strength and balance. Thus it is effective in reducing the risk of fall in an older adult.

This project shows a creative and interactive approach to the familiar scavenger hunt game. In this users will hunt for an object (banana) hidden in the real world environment using the camera of the device. Once the user starts the application then he/she see the banana rendered around them then they need to capture all the bananas in this minimum time. The main focus of this application is to provide user better interaction with the environment in the game. This is also a type of crowd sourcing application in which user can add their own map at any location. It not only provides entertaining activities within an environment that players can explore, but the AR contents can serve as an educational tool.

Human Resource Management (HRM) is the process of managing people within an organization. In construction, HRM is primarily concerned with ensuring that a project has sufficient human resources, with the correct skill-sets and experience, for the project to be successfully completed. In most of the construction industry often experiences complexities in project completion schedule and cost due to no availability of a sufficient number of skilled labors and demand of the required construction material to carry out the planned work. Therefore the proper management of this single largest component can improve the productivity and cost efficiency of a project and help ensure its timely completion. One of the major problems in delaying construction projects is the poor quality of materials and resource management. In our project mainly focuses on how to identify the different components of human resources management and quality of the material supply in the construction industry.

Metal and non-metal sorting

Nowadays solid waste management is a major concern. Solid waste has to be crushed, classified and sorted. Sorting is an important step for recycling and reuse of materials. Conventionally sorting techniques like magnetic sorting and eddy current sorting are only able to process some special kinds of ingredients of waste mixture roughly. This project comes with an idea of the sorting of metals & non-metals. It will be a revolution for industries in which proper management of materials is required for delivering quality assured products at cheaper prices. Sorting is done to separate out metal and non-metal materials differently. The whole setup is fully automated which is useful as well as eco-friendly.

Preparation of activated carbon from fish scale

In the present case, preparation of fish scale based porous carbon from two different types of fish’s scales (talipia and rohu) purchased from the local market has been studied. Phosphoric acid of 20 M concentration has been used for porous carbon preparation. Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis have been done to study the porosity, surface area distribution, pore size distribution and surface morphology of the activated carbon formed in each case. A comparison has been done with the commercially available activated carbon and the fish scale based porous carbon based on the physical parameters.
