Library Automation System

Automation is the process of using the machinery for easily working and saving human power and time. The impact of automation has changed the library systems into an automated one in its operations and functions. The users need not search shelf by shelf to find out a book. Rather they can check for their books simply sitting in front of the desktop or mobile phones. This paper focuses on the automation of the library, its requirements, and modules in this web application. Library Automation which started in late 70’s in few special libraries have now reached in most of the university libraries. There are several reasons for Library Automation. Through Library Automation a considerable saving in effort, time and resources which are needed in the manual process is achieved.

Significance of DNA in Conviction of Rape Accused

DNA is an abbreviation of Deoxyribo nucleic acid. It’s an organic substance which is found in every living cell and gives an individual a personal genetic blue print. It can be extracted from blood, saliva, semen, hair, bones and other organs of the body. DNA technique now enjoys legitimacy all over the world. The technique helps the identification of criminals on scientific lines. However the technique requires great care and caution. DNA is essentially made up of amino acids and it’s matched with so called bases which provide the key to determining the genetic blueprint. Each and every cell in the human body has a sample of DNA. Presently, there is no concrete law, specific law to govern the admissibility of forensic technique however the courts of law derives the validity of forensic technique from various provisions of Code Of Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act. The paper will examine the role of DNA in criminal investigation for rape victim. In this paper author tries to find out whether the forensic technique especially in DNA profiling helped to find out accused of rape victim. It describes the main benefits and costs of the increasing role of DNA identification in the criminal justice system with special emphasis to India. We hope that the challenges of DNA technologies will be solved in future

Design and Analysis of a Nozzle to Enhance Noise Suppression

The project mainly concentrates on the suppression of noise at the exit of the nozzle of the turbofan engine of the aircraft. The new concept was introduced in the convergent nozzle of the aircraft to reduce the noise emission. We introduced corrugated plates near the exit of the convergent nozzle which also has chevrons at the trailing edge of the nozzle exit. The analyses were carried out with various parameters in the nozzle. After the assessment of the nozzle parameters we are going to modify the angle of the corrugated plates in order to suppress the noise emission with small amount of thrust loss. ANSYS- Fluent software were used to analyze the nozzle with the different orientation of the corrugated plates.

RF Controlled Robot to Travel on Uneven Surface for Space Applications

Communication systems play a major role in maintaining communication between humans or organizations or institutions or radio broadcasting programs via wired or wireless communication systems. To overcome disadvantages of wired communications, advancement in technology has resulted in the development of most advanced wireless communication systems including wireless radio frequency technology, infrared technology, GSM technology, and so on. NASA recently started an ambitious exploration program for Mars. Pathfinder is the first rover explorer in this program. Future rovers will need to travel several kilometers over periods of months and manipulate rock and soil samples. They will also need to be somewhat autonomous. Rocker-bogie based rovers are likely candidates for these missions. The physics of these rovers is quite complex. To design and control these, analytical models of how the rover interacts with its environment are essential. Models are also needed for rover action planning. Simple mobility analysis of rocker-bogie vehicles has been developed and used for design evaluation. In the available published works, the rocker-bogie configuration is modeled as a planar system. MATLAB is used for programming. Mankind has long sought improved methods of land transport. In recent years, practical mobile robots have been successfully used in environments such as factories, offices, and hospitals as well as outdoors on prepared surfaces and terrain with minor irregularities. However, reliable mobility on extremely uneven terrain remains an elusive goal for man-made devices.

Smart Dustbin for Smart City using Solar

This paper offers a new method for the garbage collection by garbage level detection. This study has been undertaken to investigate the garbage level in different levels by using smart dustbins. In the modern age, Urbanization has increased tremendously. At the same phase, there is an increase in waste production. Waste management has been a crucial issue to be considered. So, inspired by the Swachh Bharat Mission, we developed a Smart Dustbin which will sense the position of human and automatically opens the lid of the dustbins. It monitors the garbage bins and informs about the levels of garbage collected in the garbage bins via sending SMS to the cleaning staff and supervisor of the Municipal Corporation. Once the garbage reaches the threshold level ultrasonic sensor will trigger the GSM modem which will continuously alert the cleaning staff and supervisor until the garbage in the dustbin is squashed. Foul smell from the rotten wastes that remain untreated for a long time, due to the negligence of authorities and carelessness of public may lead to long-term problems. [1] So once these smart bins are implemented on a large scale, by replacing our traditional bins present today, waste can be managed efficiently as it avoids unnecessary lumping of wastes on the roadside and keeps the city clean.

Experimental Studies on Fiber Wrapping Concrete in Aggressive Environment

Nowadays in marine zone concrete are affected by tidal waves in the tidal zone and splash zone. Generally, the concrete may be affected by the sulfate, chloride, Acid, and seawater. These effects are reduced by using the fiber wrapped on the concrete. The fiber is to increase the strength and reduce the buckling and porous in concrete in the aggressive zone. Aggressive zone concretes are like chloride, sulfate, and acid and sea water. Glass fiber has the advantages of having higher tensile strength and fire resistant properties, thus reducing the loss of damage during fire accident of concrete structures. In this trial test for concrete with glass fiber wrapping and without glass fiber rapping conducted to show the difference in compressive strength by using cylinder.

Experimental Study on Strength of Concrete by Partial Replacement of Cement by Cashew Nut Shell Ash (CNSA) and Chicken Feather Fiber (CFF) as Fiber Reinforcement

In this project, to reduce the cement content in the concrete to use the cashew net shell ash (CNSA). Most ashes have pozzolanic activity and may be used as a cement replacement material, resulting in less energy waste and low-cost composite. And also increase the strength of concrete to add the chicken feathers as a fiber. The CFF has the presence of more void space in its cross-section, so it has good resilient property. By using the CFF will save cost, eco-friendly environment and also help the fiber industry sustainable. Combination of CNSA and CFF is cost-efficient and improve the strength of the concrete block.
